 An IoTs Reconfiguration Framework with Intelligent Context Management

Nowadays, Internet of Things (IoTs) has been a hot research topic, in which the reconfiguration of IoTs applications have been applied in real-time Internet of Things (IoTs) eco-systems and/or applications to change the behaviors under dynamic changes of the environments. Since IoTs devices can be deployed in remote or dangerous locations, it is necessary to reconfigure remotely over-the-air (OTA) to change the behaviors of IoTs applications and IoTs devices upon unpredicted events. Additionally, when the number of IoTs devices is getting bigger up to thousands, manual reconfiguration of IoTs devices and applications is a time-consuming task with inaccuracy and imprecise operations. This paper proposes a framework for reconfiguring IoTs applications and devices upon the dynamic changes or unpredicted events of environments. Our approach is based on a service-oriented architecture integrated the model of intelligent context management and deployed over cloud infrastructures. In the proposed IoTs reconfiguration framework, we have shown the implementation details of each stage {data acquisition, extract-transform-load (ETL), data processing, learning and decision} for the intelligent context management. To validate our proposed framework, experiments have been carried out by updating new firmwares for WSN nodes based on smart temperature change context and discuss our proposed framework in terms of reconfiguration. Results show that our proposed framework is suitable for dynamically configuration using SOA, integrated cloud approach and it reduced the time cost on reconfiguration process.
