TÓM TẮT
This study aimed to validate the Vietnamese version of the Prosocial and Aggressive Driving Inventory (PADI), a self-reported questionnaire used to comprehensively evaluate safe and unsafe driving behaviours. The relationships between PADI's factors and driving-related outcomes in Vietnam were also investigated. The factor analysis of Vietnamese PADI revealed a two-dimensional structure, including Prosocial driving and Aggressive driving. This study's findings highlighted the benefits of Prosocial driving in reducing traffic issues. For instance, Vietnamese motorcyclists with higher scores on Prosocial driving were less likely to have adverse driving-related outcomes (e.g. on-road crashes, offences). In contrast, Aggressive driving was positively associated with all aberrant driving patterns in the Motorcycle Rider Behaviour Questionnaire. Regarding demographic variables, young and male motorcyclists were more likely to be involved in road accidents or receive traffic infringements.
