In the current globalization era, economies are constantly cooperating, integrating and developing together. Vietnam is no exception to this trend. Starting from the early years of the 21st century, Vietnam has marked its integration with a series of notable milestones such as the accession to the WTO, the strong development of relations with the ASEAN region, the signing of concluded a series of bilateral and multilateral agreements. Japan is a leading country in terms of investment capital to Vietnam as well as leading in the number of enterprises signing cooperation agreements with Vietnamese enterprises. This is both an opportunity and a challenge for small businesses. Because in the process of negotiating and signing sales and cooperation contracts, Vietnamese businesses still make fatal mistakes that lead to failure. The number of Japanese investors in Vietnam has constantly increased in recent years. This is a great opportunity but also a big challenge for Vietnamese businesses because Japanese partners are truly potential ones but it is really a tough task for Vietnamese side to negotiate with them. Meanwhile, it is not an easy task to understand and master Japanese business negotiation style. Therefore, this topic will help to give Vietnamese businesses a new approach to Japanese business negotiation style by providing a good understanding of Japanese cultural characteristics that form Japanese style in business negotiations and thus Vietnamese side will find it easier to negotiate as well as establish a long-term business relationship with Japanese companies. Therefore, understanding Japanese partners more specifically are the dominant factors for Japanese partners in business negotiations to prepare for negotiations with partners, becoming an urgent issue for every business. businesses if they still want to survive and develop in the market.
