In the document processing domain, encoding characters, designing fonts, building typing tool from a keyboard and displaying the characters on the screen is indispensable problems in the Computer Science. For the Vietnamese document processing, there are early many different typing tools for accented characters, using different fonts with one or two bytes in encoding method, and now mostly use Unicode. However, among the 55 Vietnamese ethnic groups, only 24 languages have own writing systems and some languages have typing tools in the computer, thereby, there is no unified solution for encoding and fonts used. The solution of this typing tools is only locally, mainly using the fonts built-in percussion, difficult to work. In this paper, we proposes a general solution using Unicode in encoding the Vietnamese minority languages using Latin characters, applying for the EDe Language. From that we can type the ethnic language text in multilingual environment using Unicode fonts and the common Vietnamese typing tool such as Vietkey, Unikey, etc…. Based on the results of using Unicode in encoding EDe language, we continue to expand for solving problems of text typing on computers with any ethnic language that has the Latin characters.
