ABSTRACT
This study aims to investigate factors prompting the start-up business in the Da Nang city with respect to the basic methodological approach of quantitative research, especially structured questionnaires. The empirical research is conducted according to motivational items of entrepreneurs for establishing their own successful business. Four motivational factors affecting entrepreneurs’ start-up are obtained in this research. Our results show that personal motivations, scientific knowledge, entrepreneurial opportunity, and availability of resources are part of the entrepreneurial motivation in practical areas, as well as the importance to academic entrepreneurs. We also find that personal motivations are the main factor in entrepreneurial activity. Thus, this result implies that there is a variety of different success factors affecting entrepreneurs, which primarily depend on the current situation in the local environment. On the other hand, there is a lack of motives concerned with the sustainable development of enterprise in the long run.
