ABSTRACT
This paper studies about the interaction between human and computers. We present a new method for hand gesture recognition based on center of gravity (COG). The method is studied for a human–machine interface application in robot. People can control the robot by using the gesture on his hand. We present additions to an independent platform, gesture recognition system which previously tracked hand movement, defined orientation, and determined the number of fingers being held up in order to control an underlying application. Hand gesture is an important way for communication between people so the algorithm of hand gesture recognition to support in this research can make the interaction between human and machine become easy and efficient.
