Deer antler
velvet (Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum) is the not yet ossified young horn of
male sika deer (Cervus nippon Temminck) belonging to the Cervidae family [1].
The young horns are short,
soft, not branching and smooth as velvet when touched. They contain many blood
vessels and have the brownish color [2]. Deer antler velvet has been
used for a long time in oriental and western traditional medicines to increase
the body resistance, reduce fatigue and to improve the patient’s recovery time.
It is especially effective in spermatogenesis [3].
This study
was carried out to enhance the values of the deer antler velvet and its related
products. Deer antler velvet soft capsules were manufactured from natural deer
antler velvet of Huong Son, Ha Tinh where has been considered as a famous deer
breeding farm in Vietnam. The aim of study is to create a new vitalizing
product with good quality for public heathcare.
