ABSTRACT
Ministry of Education and Training has issued a general education curriculum which gives a new subject - Natural Science for lower secondary school students. The detailed draft curriculum has been completed and presented but there are currently no textbooks. To teach this subject, teachers must be master the knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Earth Sciences. However, most junior high school teachers now are trained to teach one or two subjects only. This article that would like to present the survey results about the willingness of lower secondary school teachers in teaching natural science, will then also propose some solutions to improve teachers’ capacity in teaching Natural Science to meet the requirements of new general education curriculum in near future.
