TÓM TẮT
The bacterial genus Methylobacterium is pink-pigmented facultatively methylotrophs (PPFM). They use onecarbon compounds such as formate, formaldehyde, methanol as sole carbon and energy source and produce plant growth regulators, vitamin, - carotene, single-cell protein, PHBs. 34 bacteria species (coded Tn, n from 1 to 34) were isolated from rice leaves in Danang City which could grow on MMS medium with 1% methanol. Among 34 species of isolated bacteria, only two strains T6 and T12 were identified as negative Gram bacteria with pink colony, catalase, urease positive and being ability of mobility. Identification of isolates based on 16S rDNA gene
sequencing indicated that that T6 and T12 were Methylobacterium extorquens and Methylobacterium zatmanii respectively.
