ABSTRACT
Selecting the appropriate accounting software package has become one of the most critical decisions for an organization. It is recommended that the organization should spend a considerable time researching all aspects of accounting software before taking a decision of buying it. Thus, the purpose of the study is provide insight into which factors and features are most importance for selection accounting software based on the survey of 70 respondents from diversity of demographic characteristics. The results indicate that functionality/capability was rated as the most importance category. The second main factor that would signification affect the purchasing among accounting software packages is the compatibility with other software, followed by the vendor support. Contrary to the finding of prior researches, the vendor stability/viability and cost are rate less importance to users in Vietnam.
