ABSTRACT
This paper presents the comparison of the performance of a novel flux intensifying permanent magnet (PM) assisted synchronous reluctance motor (FI-PMa-SyRM) with different rotor surface layouts. A SynRM without embedded PM is also considered. This paper strengthens and completes a previous work where this novel FI-PMa-SynRM was proposed. With the analysis and comparison, the advantages of FI-PMa-SynRM are highlighted.
