Global supply chains have been expanding and spreading due to globalization. Multinational companies are having been building a production and distribution system over the world, while SMEs in developing countries are mostly participating in the global supply chain as the role of suppliers. Although the global supply chain provides plenty of opportunities for companies, it also presents challenges to managers of companies on the other hand. Especially when social issues are receiving attention by the whole world more than ever, it supposed to bring out new challenges with regard to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). With Supply Chain approaching, the purpose of this paper is finding the role of CSR activities done by companies in developing countries within the global supply chain. The study has been carried out in An Khe Bamboo & Rattan Handicraft Co-operatives in Da Nang city of Viet Nam. It has shown changes of the co-operative due to social responsibility and thereby help to learn about the meaning of social responsibility activities for entering the global supply chain. It figures out that CSR has close relationship with co-operatives and can help co-operatives to enhance their performances relating to global supply chain.
