ABSTRACT
Flow stabilization plays a very important role in the operation of seaport facilities. Usually to facilitate trade, seaports are built in locations subject to the impact of waves, winds and complex flow regimes. It is necessary to design works to limit those impacts, especially in complicated weather conditions, such as tropical storms. Lien chieu is a key port project in the central region of Vietnam. This work is expected to solve existing weaknesses in logistics services for Da Nang city as well as other provinces in the region. However, it is located in a relatively complex climate region, frequently affected by storms and northeast monsoons. This requires designers to find suitable solutions to minimize the impact of the above phenome-na. In order to choose a suitable structural solution, the research team used two-dimensional model to simulate the impact of hydrodynamic phenomena in the area under the impact of extreme weather phenomena. Since then, making appropriate designs for Lien Chieu seaport. This paper is to present some simulation results of proposed structural solutions for Lien Chieu Port. The results are expected to provide basic analysis to help in the design of port protection structures better.
