TÓM TẮT
Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) is widely used to explore various water regions as well as inspection of underwater structures where the human cannot access. A good dynamic model is essential for the success of maneuverability of the ROV. Thus, the hydrodynamic force acting on the ROV is needed to predict accurately. This study addresses the estimation of the hydrodynamic characteristics of an ROV when it performs the inspection task of bridge column in stream flow. RANS (Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes) based method is adopted to analyze fluid flow passing through the structure as the ROV rotates about. Interaction between the column and ROV is evaluated by comparison with the case without the stream flow.
