TÓM TẮT
Supply chain management relates to control three major flows of goods, information, and funds. Most academic papers mainly dealt with the flows of goods and information. There is still minimum knowledge on financial (funds) flow in supply chain. This paper reviews different financing approaches, and introduces supply chain financing (SCF) method as a potential financing approach for Vietnamese firms in supply chain. The SCF is a good approach to optimize liquidity and working capital, and more important to create a true win-win for all partners involved as an effective tool to strengthen the relationship among their trade partners. However, the practice of the supply chain finance programs requires a framework that incorporates governance, strategy, process, and infrastructure. This paper indicates big challenges and also suggests key steps for implementing the supply chain financing in Vietnam.
