TÓM TẮT
The study investigated common difficulties and de-motivating factors of female lecturers teaching English in the universities in the Central of Vietnam. Therefore, the main purpose of the study is to make clear and explore the difficulties and de-motivating factors faced by female lecturers in different universities in teaching English. A total of 24 female lecturers of English were interviewed and 100 questionnaires were designed and sent to female lecturers to generate data. Data for this article were mainly collected through semi- structured interviews from the real stories of English lectures working at universities in the Central of Vietnam. The finding of the study reveals that English lecturers have been suffering from the requirement of qualifications, teaching tensions and salary. It is daunting for female lecturers to get promoted and have more opportunities to further their studies. Based on the findings, this study pointed to the causes why female lecturers have negative attitude towards their teaching profession and some possible solutions, teaching policies /actions the government and universities are recommended to take.
