ABSTRACT
Innovating the teaching methods from secondary schools to universities is not only an urgent necessity for the whole society but also a concern for many educators. In recent years, mathematical educators in the country and around the world have focused on investigating the importance of students' thinking and statistical reasoning in all fields of statistic education. Our research on a model for developing statistical reasoning is completely appropriate with this viewpoint. In a psychological analysis, we investigated a number of models of cognitive development and pointed out that the capacity for the statistical inference of full-time students had changed and decentralized through a number of levels. On the basis of the cognitive development model, we will focus on studying some models for developing students' statistical inference as they deal with increasingly overwhelming statistical data and how they make remarks and give significant statistical conclusions which can intelligently solve the problems available in practical production activities.
