ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of peer rewriting method in improving students’ writing skill. This study will be conducted with two first-year English major classes at University of Foreign Language Studies, the University of Danang, Vietnam. In the study, two classes will use the help of peers in two different ways. One class will follow the procedures of giving and getting peer feedback in the traditional way. In the other class, instead of giving feedback, the peer reviewer will be asked to rewrite the whole paper with the same content. In both classes, students will be asked to rewrite their first draft after receiving peer’s help. Students’ performance will be kept record and compare between two classes. Later, a few students in both classes will be interviewed to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of being both as a giver and a receiver when using peer feedback. The hypothesis is that students in peer rewriting class will enhance their writing fluency.
