TÓM TẮT
The standard compressive strength of concrete is often used as a practical durability criterion. However at present, it is believed that permeability (the relative resistance of a material to fluid transmission under pressure) is a more fundamental parameter for characterizing the durability of concrete. Permeability influences the penetration of the aggressive substances and, thereby, has an important impact on the durability of concrete. Despite the importance of permeability of cementitious materials, to date no widely accepted technique for quantifying it has been developed.

The study aims at reviewing existing methods and proposing a new method to measure the hydraulic conductivity (kw) in laboratory. This work is a first stage in the development of a methodology which can be used for studying changes in transport properties due to chemical degradation of concrete.
