ABSTRACT
Based on collecting 210 series of data which have been systemized, handled and rejected from many projects for many years (in which 12 series of data are for checking) in Quangnam coastal area, we determine relationship between undrained shear strength of UU test versus FVST of 3 types of popular soft soils, are sandy clay mud ambQ22 with relative ratio ; clayey sand mud abmQ21 (with r = 0,872); sandy clay mud abmQ21 (with r = 0,912). This study is the first research on soft to very soft soils in Quangnam area and the results showed that relative extent altered from tight to very tight so that they can be used for ground and foundation designing (which involed with shear strength).
