 Online learning in Physics during the COVID pandemic using self-designed magnetic experiments

ABSTRACT
The study of Physics is a requirement for certain university programs in Vietnam. This experiment-based discipline requires hands-on learning, including practical skills, observational skills, and problem-solving abilities [1]. Since the COVID-19 pandemic made it difficult to conduct live experiments in class, simple online experiments were required. Using self-designed online experiments, this study develops a method to teach students about the magnetic field through these experiments and assesses learning outcomes for the 2021-2022 school year. The results showed that students benefitted from hands-on learning experiences provided by self-made online experiments through the consolidation of knowledge and critical thinking.
