 FACTORS AFFECTING THE UNIVERSITY SELECTION OF 12TH GRADE STUDENTS IN VIETNAM

In Vietnam, the process of selecting a university is a crucial step for 12th-grade students as it determines their future academic and career path. This study has investigated, evaluated, and identified the factors that influence students' decisions regarding school and career choices. Several factors influence their decision-making process: Academic performance, job placement and career path, diversity and attractiveness of desired major, reputation of the university, location, financial considerations, family ınfluence, extracurricular and supportive activities, entrance examination scores, social ınfluences. The results of the theoretical model testing indicate that the model is compatible with the data, identifying five factors that significantly impact students' university choices: Academic performance, Reputation of the university, Family ınfluence, Extracurricular and supportive activities, Social ınfluences. The study also evaluated the level of influence of each factor on students' decisions. Based on these findings, appropriate solutions have been proposed to assist students in career orientation.
