ABSTRACT
Structural solutions utilizing concrete filled steel tube(CFST) column and reinforced concrete (RC) wide beams areused effectively in high-rise buildings, especially for large span.Currently, there have not been many theoretical and experimentalresearches on CFST column - RC wide beam connection to ensurethe effectiveness of this structure type. Moreover, there have notbeen any experimental researches on the connection of CFSTcolumn – Prestressed concrete (PC) wide beam, as well as onassessing the effect of prestressed cables and shear head shape onthe shear strength of the connection. This paper proposesconnection structures; conducts experimental program, analyzesand compares different types of connections between CFSTcolumn and RC, PC wide beam using large size specimens toevaluate the actual behavior of proposed connections.Experimental results give a better view of the effect of shear-headshape as well as the prestressed force on the shear strength of thewide beam at the connections.
