 Using an intelligent Anfis controller for Statcom in improving dynamic voltage stability-ESCI

Stacom is one of the Facts devices, its advantage is the quick response to disturbances in electrical systems. The Stacom’s controller is commonly used as Pid controller. However, the Pid controller is usually only highly effective at one or some operation points. Adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (Anfis) is combining a neural network and a fuzzy system results in a hybrid system, capable of reasoning and learning in an uncertain and imprecise environment. In order to improve operational efficiency of the controller of Stacom, the author has studied and applied an Intelligent adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system. In this paper, online training of Anfis is done using an neural indentifier. And based on this identification, the weights and coefficients are adjusted timely. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed controllers, simulation results of the voltage response in time-domain are performed in Matlab environment to evaluate the effectiveness of the designed controller for Stacom. The simulation results are compared to evaluate the best effective training algorithm between the proposed algorithms and the others.
